I remember our Seagull friend. I haven't seen him for a while, he seems to be hiding from me...

He keeps swooping in to see me, but then I probably see the sea more than you do

After reading Jonathon Livingston Seagull, I've had a special place in my heart for those birds. Great photos!

Thanks Chick

I remember both I those seagull images. The penultimate one is my favourite, he/she looks very confident - they're such thugs, seagulls!

Assertive, they'd say Ashley.

No doubt they would. At Bondi I've seen pigeons and cockatiels sharing food with no problem, but come the seagulls and everyone else is chased away with much squawking. Seagulls are handsome creatures, to be sure, but I don't like them!

Hmm... What would your lovely cat Bella do in a flock of birds? She would do what cats do just as seagulls do what seagulls do. I like them, especially their attitude (I doubt if the fish like them much though, if they ever have time to realise what is happening to them).

Ok, you win. :)

No, not me. I think it is Bella who has won :)

Glad you like them Alex. All images from Scotland, as follows from top: Bridge over River Earn in Perthshire,
next two on the Isle of Bute in the Firth of Clyde, then the Isle of Arran. The big seagull in the next one just stood staring me out on the deck of a ferry as we left Mallaig (It was within reach of my hand, and I blinked first)as we were heading to the Isle of Skye, then the two seagulls against the sun were on the seafront at Oban on the West coast

nice portrait in the penultimate shot :-)

Thanks. A seagull with attitude (like most have) made it easy for me.

Great photos Andrew. I'll have to visit Scotland some day.

Thanks for the thumbs up re: Bella. Unfortunately I'm really quite allergic to her (the amount varies between different cats and dogs) so I don't know if I can keep her or not. :(
I'm here, though, to let you know that you are posted on 'strata of the self':

Thanks Syncy... I'll take a look. And at least if Bela has to leave you she can trust you to find her a good home.
