East coast beneath Bertha's tail

The tail-end of Hurricane Bertha reached us today, with heavy skies but weakening wind. What real hurricane chasers would call "just a breezy day".

Years back on a particularly windy day one of our cats ran up a tree - and bit it.
So now when we see irritated, antsy people we say 'the wind has got under his/her tail'...
Glad that Bertha was relatively gentle though. A bad tempered Bertha (or her cousins) can wreak a lot of damage.

We had the rain, then a brief interlude of sun followed gusty (not quite gale force) wind.

We seem to have one per season. This year Arthur came early bringing lots of strong wind here, but all the rain fell in the province next door.

The pictures you caught are lovely.
