Same old same new





... at the bottom of the garden that is temporarily mine, beside a stream that Roman soldiers briefly used, many hundreds of years ago, before the angry locals drove them south. They left in such a rush they dropped some coins too.

Seasonal magic.
And, judging by shows like Time Team, the Romans were very, very careless with their coins.

They were probably drunk much of the time (like most of the locals, then and now).

My son also found what the local museum designated to be "a bronze age coin" when he did a dig into that riverbank below the blossom. And you know what? He has since lost it. It may be in the house somewhere, or dropped for someone else to find.

As compared to the snow which fell on our garden last night, I would say your blossoming flowers make you much richer than the Romans who dropped some coins over Scotland.
