The First of March, again

This one was in 2010, but it's back again now, the same as ever but very different. I will get out of bed now and take a look at what Spring has sprung for me this time.

Later... The day brought nothing as fine as the view above, but looking up from a newspaper and out of a coffee shop window is generally a pleasant way to spend some time:

Let Spring spring on and offer me more...

That first photo in particular is a gem.
It is Autumn here. Finally. And I am looking forward to all it has to offer. And will go out into the garden in a bit.

I presume in Australia Autumn is welcomed for its relief from the heat. A very different experience round your side of the world. I've never been there (and probably never will be).

It isn't welcomed by everyone - but definitely by me. One of my most favourite seasons.

@ Elephant's Child
I'm in Sydney. It's been raining. How wonderful! I'm so glad that Autumn is here.

@ Andrew
I like both images, but the second one is my favourite for its interesting composition.

The first is magnificent for all the reasons anything not made by people is.

The second is a fine example of something beautiful fashioned by man.

We've been told (in Canada) that we are in a polar vortex (whatever it means). We'll be as cold in March as we have been in February. Again, no coffee and cake, at my friendly places for another month. The wind is too strong to keep the walker solidly on the ground.

Your photos are always so good.

Claude: I believe "polar vortex" is just a fancy term for the winds high up in the sky blowing down from where your Inuit friends live. You need a motorised buggy to sit on and drive to coffee for these weathers, maybe witha heated seat too. Nice to see the young Claude in the photo again though, for I'm sure she is still in there in your older wiser head.

Ashley & Susan: Glad you like the views.

Love the reflections in the water in the first photo!

Great set of pictures. I (In the Netherlands) missed the ice this year....
Spring comes too early, it does not feel right to me, hopefully we will have a normal Summer and not a HOT one.

Andrew - I think the little girl wants a scooter, not a motorised buggy with a heated seat. Maybe it might stop the old lady from moaning!
