Ah the Cairngorms. Such splendid scenery. Takes me back to being 17 and working in Aviemore for a summer.

Your comment reminds me of my summer working on a farm in Perthshire at 17. We all need a summer aged 17 to remember.

Nice to see the snow still lingering in photos 1 and 3 too, as a reminder that this is still Scotland. It was very cloudy today though, for a change, and even a refreshing shower of rain to enjoy.

I see you found the perfect bench to 'sit and rest a while'. What shall we talk about? Or would you prefer companionable silence...

Just feeding the ducks would be nice. They are very friendly (when you throw food at them).

I suspect if we sat together on that bench that amazing/scary seagull might put in an appearance.

Note to myself make sure that the bread for the ducks is nowhere near my ankles!

A touch of snow and a bit of rain did not mar the beauty of the land and the luscious look of the pastry!

The Banoffee Pie was without question the best I have ever had, and ridiculously dense. As a result, I only had soup and a roll in the evening instead of the planned meal (while the lady had a baguette). I think the pie is still being digested now, well after midnight. Awesome (Oh yes, and the scenery was OK too)

Magnificent pictures from your recent travels. Not only are the mountains sublime and the seas magnificent but it's nice to know some towns haven't changed much at all in recent years.

I am glad you enjoyed the views Susan.
