Not a popular idea I know but the only reasonable one.

Ah... And as I wrote the words I thought of you John, since you discussed the issue with eloquence some time ago.

I should add however, that the young lady in the photographs was busy texting, it appeared, on her mobile phone. It is good that we can communicate, even though fundamentally we are all alone.

Sometimes, words can be an hindrance, and no remedy for aloneness. But as I wrote, at the end of my poem "The Moonlight is Speechless..."

"Two clasped hands across a table
across a warm sea of silence
can tear down
better than a thousand well chosen words
the tower of babel
one erects everyday in one's soul."

A solitary journey - in the company of friends. Which makes sense to me at least.

How early did you have to get up to capture that shot? It's quite spooky actually. An "On the beach" quality of solitude.

Nice words Claude and Soosie(EC) - thanks.

Actually it was 7pm Craig, and a few minutes later the place was rather crowded, but I did catch a spookily quiet moment.
