We will have to wait and see. It was my preferred outcome in an election that is really not my business, but the sun would have risen regardless.
Indeed. The sun doesn't give a damn. Or the moon, the stars...
That's true... and four years to this planet? not the blink of an eye
But they are four years that will make Hilary Clinton 69. If she was Chinese that might almost be old enough to run the country, but for the USA it may be too old. I know she denies any interest, but trust me, she's interested. Bill told his alien friends, the ones that really run the country, who told my little friend Aileen, who told me. So everything I say is, as usual 100% reliable and verified.
I try not to discuss politics. But when the subject is put in front of me,I give my opinion. Here's a joke (not very funny) with which some of my very sober, very thoughtful, very worried American friends agree: What's the difference between America and the Titanic? The passengers of the Titanic didn't vote to hit the iceberg. When the Chinese come with the bill, people who have voted mostly for abortion rights, gay rights, women's rights will have very little chance to exercise those rights.I personally didn't trust either the Red candidate or the Blue one. Some restraint is sorely needed in American fiscal policies. It seems the only one who alerted the people of a near catastrophe was the Green candidate.I pray that someone taps on Obama's shoulder to warn him before the iceberg hits. The whole world will be affected if America sinks.
Do you think Romney would have avoided the iceberg you talk of? I am not challenging what you say, just puzzling over the idea that people voted to hit the iceberg. I reckon America is on collision course with an iceberg whoever is in charge, because it is a country now living well beyond its means (like so many countries) with expectations that cannot be attained.
Guess I didn't make it clear that it was just the act of voting (it didn't matter for whom)...The majority of people should just have stayed home, and said: We're not playing anymore.
Having read up a little on what Mormons actually believe to be fact I could only conclude Mr Romney is clinically insane, and I am very glad people voted to avoid him winning (along with his pals who think that a rape can be God's will, and etc. and etc.) I do have problems with Obama (especially all the collateral innocents blown away by his drone attacks) but the Republicans just seem nutters to me.
Shouldn't we get fed up about voting for the lesser of two evils? About time people rebel...
I'll be interested to hear the practicalities of Claude's planned revolution, and may be inclined to join in; but just not voting and leaving the door open to the possibility that the worst nutter might win power doesn't appeal. What do you suggest? Other than staying at home on voting day?
The first thing I would do is NOT to celebrate the victory of anyone who ordered drone attacks 3-4 days before the election but did not disclose the fact to the voters and to the world. And NO, I'm not any happier that he has won. And I would not be happy about the other one either. I'm NOT happy PERIOD about the situation. And many, many people feel like me.You're lucky if you know who is the worst nutter. I am not going to restart the political arguments, about who is less evil than the other. But I find it incredible that, with so many admirable and decent Americans, not one would rise to lead the country on a sane and acceptable road. It doesn't matter from which party. Just someone who will not bow down to Wall street and who will know, every month, how much money he has to spend. And someone who would stop blaming everybody else for what he cannot achieve.I could say more. But that's enough as long as that PEACE president is on the screen. Some Pakistani people are certainly not rejoicing today.
And you're still my friend, and a great writer!
He's not on the screen on my blog because I was celebrating, I was just recording the significant moment in history.
...though I remain glad the bigger nutter didn't win...
